How to Check Your AI Credit Usage

Summary

Overview: Every AI feature in Prosperna, from Max AI chats to Generate with AI buttons, uses AI Credits. You can check your balance any time from the Credits Usage icon in the top bar, and see the full breakdown, your refresh date and how much time AI has saved you on the Credits tab in Billing.

Prerequisites:

  • A store on the Launch, Grow, Scale or Premium Trial plan.
  • Store owner access, or a team member with Billing access for the Credits tab.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Take a quick look from the top bar

  1. In the top bar, click the lightning-bolt icon. Hover over it to see the label Credits Usage.
  2. The dropdown shows:
    • AI Credits: your total balance (monthly credits plus any you bought), with a bar that shows how much is left.
    • Shipping Credits (Philippine stores only): your shipping credit balance.
    • SMS Credits: SMS messages used this month, out of 100.
  3. To add AI credits, click Top Up next to AI Credits. See How to Buy AI Credits.

Step 2: See the full breakdown on the Credits tab

  1. Click your name or profile picture at the top right of the dashboard.
  2. Click Billing.
  3. Click the Credits tab. AI Credits is the first section.
  4. Check these parts:
    • Monthly AI Credits: your plan, the monthly credits left (for example 80/100 Credits available) and Refreshes on with the date your monthly credits renew.
    • Total AI Credits Balance: Monthly AI credits + Topped-up credits. Hover over the number to see Monthly AI Credits and Topped-up Credits separately. The bar under it is green when your total is 50% or more of your monthly amount, yellow from 20% to 49%, and red below 20%.
    • By using AI, you have achieved:: the hours saved by AI across everything you've generated, and an estimated % more productivity.

Step 3: Know what uses credits

AI Credits are used each time the AI does work for you, for example:

  • chatting with Max AI and the tasks Max does for you
  • product descriptions and SEO meta tags for products, blog posts and pages
  • blog writing (topics, titles, keywords, outlines and content)
  • logos, logo regenerations and logo assets (wordmark and favicon)
  • the aesthetic direction in AI Studio
  • AI image editing: background removal, image quality, lighting and background replacement

The number of credits each task uses depends on how much work the AI does, so it varies from task to task. Some building actions in Max AI, like starting an empty page to build by hand, don't use credits.

Step 4: Understand your monthly refresh

Each plan includes Monthly AI Credits:

  • Your monthly credits are used first. Credits you bought are used only after your monthly credits run out.
  • On the Refreshes on date, your monthly credits go back to your plan's full amount. Unused monthly credits don't carry over.
  • Credits you bought stay in your balance after the refresh.
  • When you change your plan, the refresh date moves to one month after the change.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • The Credits Usage dropdown shows your AI Credits balance.
  • The Credits tab shows Monthly AI Credits with a Refreshes on date and your Total AI Credits Balance.
  • After you use an AI feature, your balance goes down. If it hasn't changed yet, refresh the page.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "You have no AI credits.": your balance is 0. AI features won't start until you top up or your monthly credits refresh. In the Max AI chat, click Top Up Now under the message.
  • "Insufficient AI credits. Top up at least [number]." or "Not enough AI credits. Need at least [number] credit(s), but only [number] available.": some tools need a minimum balance before they start. Top up at least that number of credits, or wait for your refresh date.
  • Insufficient AI Credits window (Top up now to access all AI features and continue boosting your productivity.): click Top Up Now to open the top-up window.
  • I don't see the lightning-bolt icon: only the store owner sees Credits Usage. Team members with Billing access can use the Credits tab.
  • There's no Credits tab: your store is on the Free plan or suspended. See How to Choose a Prosperna Plan.
  • The bar is full even though I've used credits: the bar compares your total balance (including credits you bought) with your monthly amount, so it stays full while your total is at or above your monthly amount.

Limitations & considerations

  • A task that costs more than your remaining balance can still finish. The extra is taken from your next monthly credits when they refresh.
  • Credits you bought can't be used while your store is on the Free plan or suspended.
  • The productivity figure is an estimate.
  • The SMS Top Up button isn't available yet.
