How to Update Your Store Name and Logo

Summary

Overview: Your store name, industry, slogan, description, social media links, logo and favicon are all on the Design Settings page. You set them on three tabs: Store Information, Social Media and Store Branding. Each tab has its own Save button.

Prerequisites:

  • A store on the Launch, Grow, Scale or free trial plan.
  • Store owner access, or a team member with Store settings & administration access.
  • For a logo upload: an image file of at least 32 x 32 pixels and under 10 MB.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Design Settings

  1. In the sidebar, click Page Builder, then Design Settings.
  2. The page opens on the Store Information tab. The other tabs are Social Media, Store Branding, Home Page and Cookie Policy.

Step 2: Update your store name and details

On the Store Information tab:

  1. Name Your Online Store (required, up to 50 characters): your store name.
  2. Set Your Business's Industry (required): choose your industry from the list.
  3. Store Slogan (optional, up to 100 characters).
  4. Store Description (optional, up to 150 characters): this appears as your store's description in search results and social media previews. Keep it short and clear.
  5. Click Save. You see Successfully updated store information.

Changing your store name doesn't change your store's web address. To change your subdomain, click Manage Your Domain in the note under the store name. If you change your subdomain, your old store link stops working.

Step 3: Add your social media links

On the Social Media tab:

  1. Enter the full link for each account you want to show, including "https://www." or "http://www.":

    • Instagram
    • X
    • LinkedIn
    • Tiktok
  2. To add another platform, click Add Social Media Platform and choose one from Available Platforms: YouTube, Pinterest, Discord or Snapchat. To take one off, click the remove icon next to it.
  3. Click Save. You see Social media link successfully updated.

Step 4: Upload your logo and favicon

On the Store Branding tab, under Store Logo & Favicon, choose how you want to add them:

  • Upload Manually: upload your own logo and favicon files.
  • Generate with AI: have Max AI design a logo for you. This uses your saved store name, slogan and industry, so fill those in on Store Information and save them first.

To upload manually:

  1. Click Upload Manually.
  2. Under Store Logo (required), click Add Image and choose an image from your Media Library, or upload a new one there.
    • Max Size: 10 MB
    • Min Resolution: 32px x 32px
    • Type: .jpg, .png, or .webp
  3. Under Favicon, click Add Image and choose an image. The favicon is the small icon shown in the browser tab.
    • Max Size: 10 MB
    • Min Resolution: 16px x 16px
    • Type: .jpg, .png, .ico, or .webp
  4. Check the Preview next to each one.

You can switch to the AI logo generator at any time by clicking Generate with AI at the top of the section.

Team members who aren't the store owner go straight to the upload fields. They don't see the Generate with AI option.

Step 5: Add a background and share image (optional)

Still on Store Branding:

  1. Store Background: click Add Image (min 5px x 5px, up to 10 MB, .jpg, .png or .webp). Click the trash icon to remove it.
  2. Social Media Share Image: the picture shown when someone shares your store link on social media. Click Add Image (min 1200px x 628px, up to 10 MB, .jpg, .png or .webp). Click the trash icon to remove it.
  3. Further down you can also set cover photos for your store locations.

Step 6: Save your branding

Click Save at the bottom of the Store Branding tab. You see Successfully updated Store Branding.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • You see the success message for each tab you saved.
  • When you reload Design Settings, your new name, links and images are still there.
  • Your store shows your new logo, and the browser tab shows your new favicon, after you reload the store.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Store name already exists.": another Prosperna store already uses that name. Choose a different name.
  • "Store name exceeds 50 characters. Please shorten it.": shorten the store name.
  • "Description exceeds 150 characters. Please shorten it.": shorten the description.
  • "Required*" under the store name, industry or Store Logo: fill in the field, then save again.
  • "Invalid Web Url": a social media link isn't a full web address. Start it with "https://www." or "http://www.".
  • "Please provide URLs for [platform]": you added a platform with Add Social Media Platform but left its link empty. Enter the link, or remove the platform.
  • "Image size must have a min resolution of 32 x 32 pixels." (or another size): your image is too small for that slot. Use a larger image.
  • "10 MB max size limit reached. Try again.": your image is too large. Compress it or choose a smaller file.
  • "Please complete store name, slogan, and industry to generate AI logo.": you're taken to the Store Information tab. Fill in the name, slogan and industry, click Save, then try Generate with AI again.

Limitations & considerations

  • Each tab saves on its own. Click Save on each tab you change before you leave it.
  • A store must always have a logo. You can replace it, but not remove it.
  • Changing the store name doesn't change your store's link. Change the subdomain separately.
  • Store colors, fonts and buttons aren't on these tabs. See How to Customize Your Store's Design.
