How to Reset Your Password

Summary

Overview: There are two ways to change your password, depending on how you signed up:

  • You signed up with your email and a password: use Forgot your password? to get a verification code by email and set a new password (Steps 1 and 2).
  • You signed up with Continue with Google: first add a password by registering with the same email (see Signed up with Google? Add a password below). Your account and store stay the same, and from then on you can change your password the same way.

Prerequisites:

  • Access to the email address you signed up with.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Request a verification code

  1. On the Sign In page, click Forgot your password? (above the password field).
  2. On the Forgot your password? screen, enter your registered Email Address.
  3. Click Reset My Password. A message with a verification code is sent to your email.

Step 2: Set your new password

  1. Open the email from Prosperna and copy the verification code.
  2. On the Set new password screen, enter the code in Verification Code.
  3. Enter your New Password. It must meet every rule in the checklist:
    • At least 1 uppercase letter
    • At least 1 lowercase letter
    • At least 1 numeric character
    • At least 1 special character (!@#$%^&*+=)
    • Minimum length of 8 characters
  4. Enter it again in Confirm Password.
  5. Click Set New Password.

Signed up with Google? Add a password

If you created your account with Continue with Google, you don't have a Prosperna password yet. Add one by registering with the same email:

  1. On the Sign In page, click Register Now.
  2. Fill in the Create an Account form using the same email address as your Google account, and choose a password. See How to Sign Up for Prosperna.
  3. Click Register, then click the verification link in the email Prosperna sends you.
  4. Log in with your email and new password. You're taken to your same store; nothing is created twice.

From now on you can log in with your email and password or with Continue with Google. To change your password later, use Forgot your password? (Steps 1 and 2 above).

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • After a reset, you see Password Reset Successful with the message "Your password has been successfully reset." Click Back to Login and log in with your new password.
  • After adding a password to a Google account, logging in with your email and password opens the same store you see with Continue with Google.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Passwords must match": the two password fields are different. Re-type both.
  • No email arrives: check spam or promotions, and make sure you typed the email address you signed up with.
  • "Forgot your password?" doesn't work for my Google account: you haven't added a password yet. Follow Signed up with Google? Add a password above first.
  • The code is rejected: use the code from the newest email and enter it exactly, with no spaces.

Limitations & considerations

  • Your new password must be different from the password you used before.
