Summary

Overview: Your author profile sets the author name that appears on your store's blog posts. On your online store, each post shows "by" followed by the author name, next to the publish date. You can also save a short bio.

Prerequisites:

  • You're logged in to your Prosperna dashboard.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open My Author Profile

  1. Click your profile at the top right of the dashboard, then click My Account.

  2. Open the My Author Profile tab.

You can also get here from the blog editor: click My Author Profile at the top of the Content section.

Step 2: Change the author name

  1. Click the pencil icon next to Name.
  2. Type the name you want readers to see (placeholder: Full Name).
  3. Click Save.

Step 3: Add a bio (optional)

  1. Type a short bio in the Bio box. You can use up to 150 characters. The counter under the box shows how many you've used.
  2. Click Save.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • You see "Successfully updated author's profile information."
  • The My Author Profile tab shows your new name.
  • When you start a new blog post, it uses the new author name.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Required*" under the name: the author name can't be empty. Type a name and save again.
  • I can't type more in the bio: the Bio box stops at 150 characters. Shorten it.
  • The author name on an old post didn't change: the author name is saved with each post when the post is created. Changing your author profile affects new posts only.

Limitations & considerations

  • There's one author profile per store, not one per person. If a team member changes it, the change applies to everyone's new posts.
  • If you've never set an author name, Prosperna uses the store owner's name.
  • The bio is saved to your author profile but isn't shown on your online store's blog posts.
  • The author profile has no photo. The picture next to My Author Profile in the blog editor is your personal profile photo, which you change on the Personal Information tab. See How to Update Your Account Details.
  • On Scale and the free trial, each post's Schema tab also has an Author field. It's filled in with your author profile name for new posts, and you can change it for that one post.
