Summary

Overview: Activate online payments so customers can pay by card or e-wallet when they check out. Philippine (PH) stores connect Xendit: Prosperna creates a Xendit account for your business, and Xendit emails you to finish setting it up. US stores connect Stripe: you sign in to Stripe (or create an account) and allow Prosperna to accept payments for you.

Prerequisites:

  • A Launch, Grow or Scale plan, or an active Premium Trial.
  • Access to Payments. Store owners always have it. Team members need Billing access in their user permissions.
  • PH stores (Xendit): access to the email inbox of the store owner's Prosperna account, because Xendit sends its setup email there. Your store name must contain at least one letter or number.
  • US stores (Stripe): a Stripe account, or the details to create one during setup.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the payment option

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings, then Payments.
  2. Under Prosperna Payments, find the Xendit card (PH stores) or the Stripe card (US stores).
  3. Click Manage.

The page shows the payment option's name, a short description and its status (for example Not Connected).

Step 2 (PH stores): Connect Xendit

  1. On the Xendit page, click Connect with Xendit.

  2. The Connect to Xendit? window lists what you're allowing. Under Prosperna would like to: it shows:

    • Accept payments on your behalf
    • View your account information
    • Receive payment notifications

It also says: "You may receive an email from Xendit to complete your managed account setup."

  3. Click Authorize & Connect. The button reads Starting Setup... while it works.

  4. You go back to Payment Settings, and a message appears: Xendit Setup Started – "Your Xendit setup has started. Please check your email and complete the onboarding steps."

  5. Open the email from Xendit. It goes to the email address of the store owner's Prosperna account. Follow the invitation and complete Xendit's verification steps.

If a Xendit account was already created with the same email, Prosperna links that account instead of creating a new one.

While you're completing Xendit's steps, the Xendit card shows Pending. The Xendit page then says "Your Xendit setup is still in progress. Please complete the invitation and verification steps sent by Xendit.", and Connect with Xendit is greyed out.

When Xendit finishes its review and your account can take payments, the card changes to Connected.

Step 2 (US stores): Connect Stripe

  1. On the Stripe page, check Payment methods supported by Stripe: (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay).
  2. Click Connect with Stripe.
  3. The Connect to Stripe? window lists what you're allowing. Under Prosperna would like to: it shows:
    • Accept payments on your behalf
    • View your account information
    • Receive payment notifications
    • Collect a 1% platform fee on transactions
  4. Click Authorize & Connect.
  5. Stripe opens. Sign in to your Stripe account, or create one, and allow the connection.
  6. Stripe sends you back to Payment Settings, and a message appears: Connection Successful – "Your Stripe account has been successfully connected to Prosperna."

The Stripe card now shows Connected.

Step 3: Check your connection details

Click Manage on the connected card. The page shows:

  • a switch at the top right, turned on
  • Account ID: click the copy icon to copy it. A message confirms "Account ID copied to clipboard".
  • Business Name
  • Email
  • Connected Since: the date you connected
  • Xendit Dashboard or Stripe Dashboard: opens your Xendit or Stripe dashboard in a new tab, where you can see your payments and account settings.

For Stripe, the page also shows this note: "Transaction Fees: Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ per successful transaction. Funds are deposited directly to your bank account."

Step 4: What your customers see at checkout

PH stores with Xendit connected:

  1. On your checkout page, under Payment, the customer chooses Pay via Xendit ("Choose from the merchant's available channels on the next page.").
  2. After they place the order, they go to Xendit's payment page and pay with one of the channels active on your Xendit account, such as credit or debit card, GCash, Maya, GrabPay or 7-Eleven.

While Xendit is connected, Pay via Xendit replaces the separate E-Wallets, Credit / Debit Card and Over the Counter options at checkout.

US stores with Stripe connected:

  1. On your checkout page, under Payment, the customer chooses Pay with Stripe.
  2. After they place the order, they go to Stripe's secure checkout page to pay.

The order starts as Awaiting Payment and changes to Paid once the payment is confirmed.

Step 5 (optional): Disconnect

  1. Open the connected card with Manage.
  2. Click Disconnect Xendit account or Disconnect Stripe account, or turn off the switch at the top right.
  3. In the window that opens, read the message:
    • Disconnect Xendit? – "This will disable Xendit routing in Prosperna. Your Xendit account will remain available in Xendit."
    • Disconnect Stripe? – "This will disable Stripe payments. Your Stripe account and transaction history will not be affected."
  4. Click Disconnect.

For Xendit, the message Xendit Disconnected appears. The card goes back to Not Connected. To reconnect, click Manage and connect again.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • On Settings → Payments, the Xendit or Stripe card shows Connected.
  • The card's page shows your Account ID, Business Name, Email and Connected Since date.
  • On your online store's checkout page, customers see Pay via Xendit (PH) or Pay with Stripe (US) under Payment.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Store name must contain alphanumeric characters before connecting to Xendit.": your store name has only symbols. Change your store name so it includes letters or numbers, then try again.
  • "This business email is already registered in Xendit. Please use the existing Xendit account or contact support.": Xendit already has an account under your email that Prosperna couldn't link. Contact support. If you'd rather use your existing Xendit account, see How to Connect Your Own Xendit Account.
  • "This Xendit account is already linked to another Prosperna merchant.": the Xendit account under your email is already used by another Prosperna store. Contact support.
  • "Already Connected" – "This merchant already has a Xendit connection.": your store already has a Xendit account in progress or connected. Go back to Payment Settings and check the card's status.
  • Xendit Setup Failed: the setup didn't start. Read the message under the title, fix what it says, and try again.
  • Connection Failed after you come back from Stripe: the connection didn't finish. The message under the title says why, for example "Invalid or expired OAuth state". Click Connect with Stripe and try again.
  • The card stays on Pending: Xendit is still waiting for you. Open Xendit's email and finish every invitation and verification step.
  • The card shows Needs Attention: the Xendit page says "Your Xendit account needs attention. Payments may be affected until the account is reviewed and active again." Sign in to your Xendit account and check what Xendit is asking for.
  • The card shows Suspended: Xendit has suspended the account. The Xendit page shows the same "needs attention" message. Contact Xendit or Prosperna support.
  • Customers see "We are unable to process your payment at this time.": the payment option they picked isn't active. Check that your Xendit or Stripe card shows Connected.
  • Customers see "Minimum order amount for Xendit hosted payment is 50 PHP.": Pay via Xendit needs an order of at least ₱50.
  • Customers see "Maximum order amount for Xendit hosted payment and standard delivery is 50,000 PHP.": with standard delivery, Pay via Xendit allows orders up to ₱50,000.
  • Pay via Xendit doesn't show at checkout although Xendit is Connected: contact support so they can check which online payment options are allowed for your shipping methods.

Limitations & considerations

  • Xendit is for Philippine stores. Stripe is for US stores. Each store sees only its own country's option.
  • Xendit's own review decides when your account becomes Connected. Prosperna can't speed it up.
  • Which channels customers can use with Xendit (cards, e-wallets, over the counter) depends on what's active on your Xendit account.
  • Disconnecting doesn't delete your Xendit or Stripe account. It only stops customers from paying through it on your store.
  • Money from Xendit and Stripe payments goes to your Xendit or Stripe account. Use the Xendit Dashboard or Stripe Dashboard button to see it.
