How to Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan

Summary

Overview: Move your store to a higher or lower plan from Billing → My Plan. An upgrade starts right away. You pay only the difference for the rest of your current billing period. A downgrade is scheduled for the end of your billing period, so you keep your current plan until then and aren't charged anything when you schedule it.

Plan prices (USD, before VAT):

Plan Monthly Quarterly Annually
Launch $29 $87 $348
Grow $59 $177 $708
Scale $149 $447 $1,788

Prerequisites:

  • You're on a paid plan (Launch, Grow or Scale). If you're on the Premium Trial or your store is suspended, see How to Choose a Prosperna Plan instead.
  • A credit or debit card saved in Billing, or one you can add during checkout.
  • No unpaid renewal. If your last payment failed, settle it first (see Troubleshooting).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open My Plan

  1. Click your profile picture in the top bar.
  2. Click Billing. The My Plan tab opens.
  3. Check Payment Terms at the top right. It shows your current term (Monthly, Quarterly or Annually). Leave it as it is. See Limitations & considerations to find out what happens if you change it.

Step 2: Choose the new plan

  1. On your current plan's card, click Change Plan.
  2. Under Why do you want to change your plan?, pick a reason. If you pick Other, describe it in the box (up to 200 characters).
  3. Click Change Plan. To stop here, click Keep Current Plan.
  4. The other plans appear, each with its price and what it includes. On the plan you want, click Switch to this Plan.

The plan now appears in the Order Summary on the right, under PLAN SELECTED.

Step 3: Upgrade (moving to a higher plan)

  1. In the Order Summary, under Select a Credit Card, choose the card to pay with, or click Add a New Credit Card.
  2. (Optional) Enter a promo code. See Limitations & considerations first: a promo code changes how an upgrade is billed.
  3. Click Pay Now.

Prosperna charges the card right away. With the same payment term, you get credit for the unused time on your current plan, pay for the rest of the period on the new plan, and keep the same billing date. The new plan starts as soon as the payment goes through.

The Total in the Order Summary shows the new plan's full price for the term. For a same-term upgrade, the amount actually charged is the difference described above. You'll find the charge under Billing → Invoices.

Step 3 (alternative): Downgrade (moving to a lower plan)

  1. In the Order Summary, choose a card under Select a Credit Card. Your renewals are charged to this card from now on.
  2. Click Pay Now. You aren't charged now. This only opens the confirmation.
  3. If you're moving to Launch and you have certain add-on apps active, a Warning lists them. You'll lose access to them unless you stay on a plan they need. Click Confirm to continue.
  4. In Confirm Downgrade, check the current and new plan and the Effective on date. Your current plan stays active until that date.
  5. Click Confirm Downgrade. To back out, click Keep My Plan.

Change or cancel a scheduled downgrade

  • To stay on your current plan: on My Plan, find the banner that starts Your plan changes to… and click Keep my current plan.
  • To pick a different lower plan: repeat Steps 2 and 3. Replace Scheduled Downgrade? appears. Click Replace Schedule to switch to the new choice, or Keep Previous Schedule to leave things as they are.
  • If you pick the same plan you already scheduled, Downgrade Already Scheduled confirms there's nothing more to do. Click Got it.

Verify It Worked

Upgrade: a message confirms Your plan is now followed by the new plan. Current Plan at the top of My Plan shows the new plan, and the charge is listed under Invoices.

Downgrade: a message confirms Your plan will change to [new plan] on [date]. A banner on My Plan reads Your plan changes to [new plan] on [date], and Current Plan still shows your current plan until that date.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Your payment has not gone through yet, so your plan has not changed.": the card was declined or your bank needs to verify the payment. You stay on your current plan and haven't been charged for the new one. On My Plan, the banner Your upgrade to [plan] is waiting for payment has a Complete payment button. Click it to finish on the secure payment page, then come back to My Plan. Or try again with another card.
  • "An upgrade is already in progress. Complete or wait for the pending payment before starting another.": finish the waiting payment first (see above).
  • "Cancel the scheduled plan change before upgrading, then try again.": you have a downgrade scheduled. Click Keep my current plan on the banner, then upgrade.
  • "You have a pending cancellation. Please resubscribe first to change your plan.": you cancelled your plan. Click Resubscribe on your plan's card first. See How to Cancel Your Plan.
  • "Your last payment did not go through." banner on My Plan: you can't change plans until it's paid. Click Settle payment to pay the amount due. If the banner says there's no open invoice, contact support.
  • "Plans with an active promo code cannot be upgraded automatically yet. Please contact support.": your current subscription has a promo code. Contact support to upgrade.
  • "Please complete the required payment details first.": select a card (or add one) before clicking Pay Now.
  • No Change Plan button: it shows only on the card of the plan you're on. During the Premium Trial, it's on the Scale card. If the button reads Resubscribe, your plan has a pending cancellation.

Limitations & considerations

  • Billing for upgrades: the credit for unused time applies only when you keep the same Payment Terms and don't enter a promo code. If you change the term (for example, Monthly to Annually) or apply a promo code, your current subscription is replaced instead. You pay the new plan's price for the full term (less any promo discount), unused time on the old plan isn't credited, and your billing date restarts on the day you pay.

  • Same plan, different term: you can't switch only your payment term from Change Plan. It lists the other plans only.

  • Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period. Your renewal on that date is charged at the new plan's price. Until then you keep everything in your current plan.

  • Promo discounts don't carry over to the plan you downgrade to.

  • Older subscriptions: if you subscribed before the current pricing, downgrading isn't available yet. Contact support, or upgrade first to move to the current pricing.

  • What changes when a downgrade takes effect. Nothing is deleted. Anything over the new plan's limits is switched off, newest first:

    Limit Launch Grow Scale
Published products, per store location 50 100 Unlimited
    Active store locations 2 5 50
Users (you plus team members) 2 5 Unlimited
    • Extra products are unpublished, newest first, and stay in your product list.
    • Extra store locations, newest first, are set to inactive.
    • Extra team members, most recently added first, are archived.
  • Menu View: if your product listing uses Menu View, it's turned off whenever your plan changes. Check your product listing settings afterwards.

  • You can't move to Free from Change Plan. To stop paying, see How to Cancel Your Plan.

  • All prices are exclusive of VAT. For an official receipt, email support@prosperna.com.
